ABOUT ME

Since I was a little kid I’ve always been into sports, I participated in 4 sports in high school; football, basketball, track & field, and baseball. As a freshman in high school, I was 5’4” 110lbs, by no means was I gifted. I knew I wasn’t the biggest, strongest, or the fastest. So that meant that anything I wanted, had to be earned through hard work. This is where the start of my fitness journey began. “Hard work beats talent, when talent doesn’t work hard”.

Following high school athletics, I continued playing another 4 years of football at the collegiate level, where I earned a B.A. in kinesiology. When my athletic career ended, I pursued new challenges. I have participated in multiple powerlifting competitions, achieving a 556 pound squat, 363 pound bench press, and a 556 pound deadlift at a bodyweight of 204 pounds. I have also completed a half marathon, and participated in RAGBRAI, an annual bicycle ride across the state of Iowa. 

Through the NSCA (National Strength & Conditioning Association), I am a certified personal trainer (NSCA-CPT) and a certified strength & conditioning specialist (CSCS). I am currently a high school strength & conditioning coach at Linn-Mar High School in Marion, Iowa, one of the top 5 biggest public schools in the state. I have trained individuals from the ages of 9 to 101! From no prior experience, to division 1 athletes, to senior citizens.

Through my journey of sports and life, I’ve learned the importance of discipline, consistency, hard work, and humbleness. With these traits, you can achieve anything you put your mind to, and that is the same approach I bring when coaching all of my clients.
